Eff had been into music since childhood, with an early obsession with the King of Pop - Michael Jackson. Not so surprisingly, he got into dance while in Junior High (University Basic School, Legon) and Senior High School (Ghana Christian International High School).

It wasn't until the tertiary education stage, pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Ashesi University College that Eff The DJ got into DJ'ing. He attended a party on campus where he heard and watched DJ K3V play, and casually asked to be taught, out of sheer curiosity and intrigue. After some practice sessions and getting the hang of DJ'ing, Eff The DJ (then DJ Eff) DJ'ed for the first time at another campus party. The duo went on to shut down various campus parties and started venturing to other campuses such as the University of Ghana and KNUST for other campus parties. Since then, he's been on an upward trajectory.

Early inspirations were heavy hip-hop and R&B that Eff listened to while growing up, making that his favorite genre of music to DJ. However, growing up in Accra, Ghana, there's no running from Afrobeats, as its the dominant genre in the country. Around the time he started DJ'ing, he listened to a lot of EDM and House Music mostly inspired by Skrillex and Diplo, which explains his love for that genre. Other DJs that influenced Eff's playing style aside DJ K3V are Kobby Graham and DJ BBrave of AkwaabaMusic.
In 2016, Eff The DJ and DJ K3V teamed up to birth #IFKR - A DJ duo that combined EDM and afrobeats sounds for DJ sets and would later go on to release an EP. This was produced by sourcing beats from their list of able producers and moulding them to fit the particular style they wanted, and then bringing the featured artistes into the same mind frame to complete the songs.
The project featured producers from Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa such as Odunsi (The Engine) (NG), Le Prezident (SA) and Khalid (GH). Featured artistes include TeePhlow (GH), Akotowaa (GH), Zepora Dickson (GH) and $pacely (GH). The first single released off the project was Omi Gbono ft Odunsi (The Engine), followed by Do What You Want ft Adomaa. The project was finally released on August 1st 2018, under Foreign XChange Productions.
The EP-themed concert; FOE (Freedom Of Expression) Concert was held in November 2018, at Serallio, Accra. The concert featured artistes on the project performing their songs on the album and their hit singles as well as DJs closely affiliated with #IFKR, such as DJ Mingle, DJ JamJam, Kuvie and DJ BigStan (on behalf of $pacely). The Remix for Bie Mu was released in June 2020, featuring Ghanaian super producer and recording artiste Magnom, CJ Biggerman, and Supa Gaeta.

Millennial-focused YouTube quiz game show, Off The Top, created by previous classmate, Joseph Nti would use #IFKR's Lie B3n ft Kirani Ayat as the theme song for the premiere of its 3rd season, which kicked off in September 2018.
